Thai fans honor late actor Akkaphan Namart

Min Pechaya said Akkaphan was always warm, humorous and supportive of his colleagues. She recalled receiving guidance from him on numerous occasions while acting together. The two played lovers in three different productions: “Stairway to His Heart” (2011), “The Fruit Falls Far from the Tree” (2016) and “Three Lives” (2018). Actress Grace Karnklao Duaysianklao, who worked with Akkaphan on “Ruea Manut” (2019), praised him for his eagerness to learn, determination, punctuality and hard work, calling him a role model for young actors. Akkaphan’s close male colleagues Chap Varakorn, Tyfoon Takphet Lekavijit and Kiatipoom Banluechairit consoled his mother, wife and younger sister. Actor Chane Tawatson Plengsiriwat has been supporting the family for the past two days along with 12 other artists. On social media, Chane wrote: “I came to say goodbye, dear brother. I hope your journey is peaceful and without pain. I miss you deeply.”

Fans from Thailand and across Asia sent funeral wreaths and condolences, with hundreds of supporters gathering at the temple to assist the family and welcome visitors. On September 23, actor Pattaradet Sa-nguankwamdee and Miss Universe Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul participated in a prayer ceremony for Akkaphan. Actress Panward Hemmanee bid a tearful farewell to her younger colleague, embracing Akkaphan’s mother and offering support and good health to the family. Kanchai Kamnerdploy, an actor and presenter, became emotional as he reminisced about Akkaphan’s discipline and kindness.

He noted that Akkaphan was very disciplined, and there were many times he felt embarrassed about being late to work. Whenever they met at events, Akkaphan would greet him warmly with a handshake and a hug. Kanchai expressed his wishes for Akkaphan to find peace in a beautiful place and hoped he would always be remembered fondly by everyone.
