During the TDRI annual public conference for 2024, held at Samyan Mitr Town Hall, research fellow Nopparuj Chindasombatcharoen issued a warning regarding the potential impact of intense heatwaves attributed to “global boiling” on Thailand’s tourism revenue. He emphasized that the rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions are likely to deter travelers, significantly affecting the country’s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nopparuj highlighted that Thailand could be at the forefront of the 48 countries projected to experience a decline in tourism income due to these intense heatwaves. During a press conference on July 27, 2023, Guterres remarked, \u201cThe era of global warming has ended; the era of global boiling has arrived. The air is unbreathable. The heat is unbearable. And the level of fossil fuel profits and climate inaction is unacceptable.\u201d This declaration underscores the urgency of addressing climate change and its far-reaching consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of these warnings, Nopparuj Chindasombatcharoen emphasized the adverse effects of rising temperatures on Thailand’s tourism sector.
